My Croppy Summer Assignment #21

For Christmas in July's final assignment use your oldest photos (they don't have to be Christmas, just whatever your oldest-waiting-to-be-scrapped photos are) with the newest Christmas colors of pink, apple green and white. And to capture that glittery New Year's Eve feel, incorporate bling, glittered elements or silvery tones.

I knew right away what picture I would use for this. My sister recently scanned and shared some family pictures. I'm the baby in the picture. Just look at that radio! (Bottom right) I pulled out our Bella Blvd Christmas kit from this past year. My glitter is some MM trees and the glitter thickers for the date.

My Croppy Summer Assignment #20

Today's assignment is to incorporate at least three large round items (photos, paper, embellishments) on your layout.

For this layout, I used our October kit, mixed with some Scenic Route embellies. My first two circles are pretty obvious. My third is the "look what I did" embellie.

My Croppy Summer Assignment #19

Today, your assignment is to incorporate a tree or trees (doesn't have to be an Evergreen) on your layout and incorporate blue & white into your color scheme.

My layout is from our Alaska trip, using Scenic Route. Another favorite gone. So sad.

And my layout.

My Croppy Summer Assignment #17

Today's Assignment, while it's not the 25th, I know the mess at my house can still be found on the 26th (sigh), is to use scraps only on your layout. Scraps of paper; no full sheets, since seldom can a full sheet of wrapping paper be found after a Christmas present unwrapping bonanza (unless you have one of those "this is too pretty to tear", kind of people), no length of ribbon longer than 12", mismatched buttons and brads, etc.; this is all about using some scraps.

So, for my layout, I pulled out the remnants of last June's Lilybee kit. Bits and pieces of leftover embellishment kits, and that cool felt trim.

My Croppy Summer Assignment #16

Your assignment for today is to draw inspiration from any or all three of those phrases: dancing sugar plums, bowl full of jelly and cherry-red nose.

I took my inspiration from dancing sugar plums and a cherry-red nose. My layout will provide the music for the dancing, with my granddaughters in a concert, and red accents for the cherry-red nose.

My Croppy Summer Assignment #14

Today, create a layout based on Gloria's sketch below.

My layout is basic and simple, leaving the focus on the picture.

My Croppy Summer Assignment #13

For your challenge today: crumple, tear, antique or otherwise distress something on your layout.

Nice easy simple challenge!! And it translated into a nice easy simple layout. I pulled out an old piece of SandyLion paper, some black magic cardstock, a new Martha Stewart punch, and here's what came out.

My Croppy Summer Assignment#12

Today create a layout that incorporates diecut paper, whether you cut it yourself or use some pre-cut paper.

First part, die cut paper, easy. Knew what I wanted to do with the title die cut. Knew what pics I wanted to use. Played around with 5 different background papers. This just felt right for the farm theme. Love my Daisy D! Wish they hadn't closed up.
But, the pictures just didn't wanna mesh. The kids had on pink, purple, blue, red, hot pink, you name, then mix in the pumpkin. YIKES! So, I finally decided to convert two to black and white. Not my favorite layout, but done.

My Croppy Summer Assignment #11

So for your assignment tonight: Use the following sketch from Nuts About Sketches, AND then create a card from the scraps BUT besides the paper, incorporate an element from the layout onto the card.

Here's my LO. Wasn't sure I liked the sketch at first. But, I LOVE how it came out!

and here's my card. I used the paperfrills and dog stamp from the layout, along with the circle paper.

My Croppy Summer Assignment #10

Today it's a Use-Your-Stash challenge. All those lovely sheets of stickers with the Q's, V's and W's left, numbers, symbols and the one E left because you needed two. . .today use those scraps of alphas on your layout in a non-title, non-journaling way.

My Croppy Summer Assignment #9

Today's challenge is: using this PageMap Half Map, create a layout. Half Map? What the heck? Yes, a Half Map. Use it alone, mirror-image it to get a 12x12 size, turn it 90 degrees or use half and create the other half yourself.

I stretched the sketch out into a 12 x 12 layout.

My Croppy Summer Assignment #8

Today's assignment comes from Elizabeth Kartchner's "52 More Scrapbooking Challenges": Use Media to inspire your next layout; books, CD's, DVD's, movies. . .

Ew! Tough one!! I really find this type of challenge difficult. But, here's what I chose for my inspiration.

And here's the layout I made.

My Croppy Summer Assignment #7

And here is challenge #7

Select one of your first layouts and use something on it to inspire a new layout.

There isn't much about my first layouts that inspire me. But, this is one I've always liked.

For my inspiration, I chose the black and white color scheme.

My Croppy Summer Assignment #6

Today we are to use this pagemaps sketch.

And here's my layout, which BTW uses the picture that tried to go on the Christmas layout. LOL!

My Croppy Summer Assignment #5

Today's challenge is inspired by the basics of our craft - trimmer, scissors, adhesive and pens. Create a layout that only uses paper; patterned or cardstock or both. You can cut, shape, punch, stamp or emboss whatever you wish from your paper, but no other items are allowed.

My Croppy Summer Assignment #4

In honor of the Red, White and Blue Day, today's challenge is to create a monochromatic layout using either Red, White OR Blue.

White doesn't scan too well-- IRL, it looks like lace on the page where I used the punches. And those are really white pearls, not silver.

My Croppy Summer Assignment #3

Today we are to make a tag using this pagemap sketch.
And then use it on a layout.

My Croppy Summer Assignment #2

Today's assignment is:Create a layout that incorporates at least three different types of alphabet fonts - stickers or rub-ons. Easy-peasy! I pulled out some leftovers from a BoBunny kit.
